Our first commercial-scale methanol project
Spark One is under development at Ventspils Freeport, Latvia, with planned production capacity of 50,000 tonnes of methanol per year.
The project will co-process suitable waste and residual resources to produce methanol for maritime fuel and chemical applications.

Commercial foundations
Feedstock supply and methanol offtake arrangements are secured, providing the commercial foundation for the project.
Engineering, technology and insurance partnerships support the development of an integrated plant design and the management of construction and operating risks.

The project’s development programme includes bankability and market studies, alongside independent technology risk assessment.
Connected to industrial markets
The Ventspils location provides port access and connections to rail and highway networks, supporting inbound feedstock logistics and methanol distribution.
The site sits within the Ventspils Freeport Special Economic Zone, where eligible investment can benefit from tax incentives.
