Biorefic develops methanol production projects around the resources available in each location.

Our approach combines the co-processing of unrecyclable waste with agricultural and forestry residues. We adapt feedstock preparation and process integration to local conditions, connecting regional resource streams with markets for fuels and chemicals.

Technology adapted to local resources

We integrate feedstock preparation, gasification and gas conditioning with methanol synthesis and distillation.

The process configuration reflects the composition and availability of local feedstocks. This flexibility allows us to assess different resource combinations and develop projects suited to their location.

Biogenic inputs support renewable methanol production. Suitable fossil-derived waste fractions provide a route to circular methanol for chemical applications.

Chemical engineer and biorefining specialist who originated Spark One and leads its development. Raitis brings experience in technology integration, engineering due diligence and industrial project structuring. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham.

Industrial executive with more than 25 years of experience in grain processing, process engineering and international plant delivery. Tino has led major capital projects and global business activities at Bühler Group. He focuses on feedstock supply, operational readiness and industrial scale-up.

Energy executive with more than a decade of experience in renewable fuels and European energy markets. Reinis has led project origination, joint ventures and offtake negotiations across Central and Eastern Europe. He leads commercial strategy and partnerships, drawing on a PhD in Energy Engineering.

Energy and infrastructure lawyer with experience across European markets. Natalia advises on project structuring, energy regulation and commercial contracts, including long-term offtake and engineering agreements. Her work supports bankable contracting and manages legal risk throughout project development and financing.

Investment and business development professional with experience in renewable gas, bioenergy and energy infrastructure, including roles at VIDA Bioenergy and VTTI. Daniel brings expertise in financial modelling, investment cases and capital deployment. He leads project economics and supports investor and lender engagement.
