More value from agricultural and residual resources

Biorefic’s research explores how to recover greater value from resources before their remaining fractions enter fuel and chemical production.

Our biorefinery approach investigates opportunities to produce ingredients for food and feed from agricultural residues, followed by further processing of the remaining material.

ERAF · ALGAE2HEALTH

An integrated oat-hull biorefinery combining prebiotic production with microalgae cultivation. The project investigates high-value ingredients, including xylo-oligosaccharides, omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants, with potential immunomodulatory properties.

EIP · Innovative prebiotics

Research into prebiotics produced from grain-processing residues for laying-hen feed. The project assesses productivity, egg quality and greenhouse-gas emissions, and explores the use of remaining production residues as growing substrates for protected cultivation.
